Kristy Robertson Shaw B.A (hons), RECE
Thank you for taking the time to review my resume.
I intend to apply my pedagogical and organizational leadership skills to a position educating adults and professionals within the field of Early Childhood Education Leadership.
Educational Experiences:
I am an honor graduate of ECE as well as certified in Leadership and Administration through Mohawk College. I have recently completed my Bachelors of Arts in Early Childhood Studies at Toronto Metropolitan University as a Dean’s Honors Graduate. I have obtained strategic professional development in pedagogical learning, such as international Reggio Emilia Study which I regularly refer to in my daily practice, as well as many other opportunities in Leadership, Infant Mental Health, Equity and Diversity.
Professional Experiences:
Throughout my years of experience in the field of Early Childhood Education, I have worked as a co-learner and researcher alongside families, educators and children of different ages and abilities in the role of Educator, Inclusion Facilitator, Supervisor, Pedagogical Leader and Professional Learning Facilitator.
In my Role as Pedagogical Leader, I research relevant information and facilitate Professional Learning to support our educators in growth in their daily practice. I mentor educators through side-by-side in class mentorship and one-to-one programming mentorship. I ensure that our organization’s values and beliefs are put into practice by ensuring our educators are set up for successful co-learning.
My role as an EDI committee member offers me the opportunity to work on a diverse team ensuring that the needs of all our educators, families and children are met with equity. As EDI Literacy committee lead, I support my team in assessing our organization’s literature, what is presented to the children, how we present it, and ensuring that every child feels a sense of belonging within our community.
Values and Beliefs:
I believe that children are competent, capable citizens with rights and it is our role as educators and pedagogical leaders to recognize and encourage these capabilities.

I believe that children learn authentically through experience and exploration and, as co-learners, we must engage with them fully, providing our children with intentional experiences and materials.
I believe that all children and families are unique and diverse and must be valued and celebrated within our early learning communities. I believe that supportive, positive leadership empowers our educators to be successful co-learners with children in an authentic way that our children deserve.
